Negotiation

Negotiation is the oldest way to settle a dispute and is often the best way to settle a dispute. Nobody else decides for you, and you keep control of the outcome. The trouble is that these talks usually happen across scattered calls and messages, and later nobody can prove what was offered or promised. That is where Online Dispute Resolution, or ODR, helps: it moves a dispute onto the internet and keeps everything in one place.

ResolveAnchor is an ODR platform where you and the other side can negotiate in a private online case room. You make offers and replies, meet over video if you wish, and every message is time-stamped and recorded, so both sides can see where they stand. When you agree, the terms are written into a settlement agreement that you both sign online, and it is a binding contract between you. If the talks do not work out, you do not have to start over: you can move the same dispute to mediation, conciliation or arbitration.

Negotiation is the oldest way to settle a dispute: you and the other side talk, and you decide for yourselves. No one else steps in. Its weakness is that the talking usually happens in scattered calls and messages, and later nobody can say who offered what. Online dispute resolution (ODR) fixes that by keeping the conversation in one place, online. On ResolveAnchor, you and the other party get a private case room to make offers, counter-offers and replies, with a video meeting whenever it helps. Each message is time-stamped and recorded. When you agree, the terms are written up and signed online, as a binding contract between you. If it does not work out, the same dispute can move on to mediation, conciliation or arbitration, so you never start from zero.
